The major road Allii Drive has traffic backed up in Kona due to ongoing construction. This resort is situated close to town and activities yet has several quick routes around the center of town. There is always an alternative to avoid the traffic due to its' great LOCATION.

The Wyndham was the best place we have ever stayed at in Hawaii. The unit was very large and roomy. I loved the whole Hawaiian atmosphere including the music around the grounds. It was our first time in a sand spa and they have a big shed where you can borrow anything you want for the beach, even beach cruisers!
The BBQs were all around and all the appliances in the unit were top of the line! My favorite was the very large lanai (patio) where we could enjoy all our meals.

Our check out time was 10 am & our flight was not until midnight but the resort allowed us to use the pool & supplied us with pool key, towels & a cooler which we really appreciated.

The Kilauea Caldera has been active and is very impressive even mid-day. There are several Farmer's Markets near this resort with an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. It's best to rent a car to take full advantage of being on the Big Island.

We've been to the Big Island 5 times and continue to love EVERYTHING about it! This time we took a unique tour (Progressive Brunch Home Tour) and it was a delight. Dolphin Discoveries continues to be the best in the snorkel trip to Captain Cook's monument. Always the first to arrive in the bay.
