Good overall experience. The resort grounds are very well kept up. Really good experience for the kids. The resort staff were quick to respond when things were wrong with our room. The staff were very professional. We had a few issues with the time share presentation, but the staff listened carefully to our concerns. We felt like they really wanted to take care of us and make sure we had an excellent time.

We had a wonderful time in Puerta Vallarta. The resort initially was great. All the staff onsite were great. I am disappointed in the taxi service options. I do know that the resort gets a piece of the monies for taxes and I am ok with that however where it posed a problem was that we were approached by taxi staff when we came into the resort with our own taxi and told a lie that the taxi person was thinking we were staff coming into the resort and it will be more money for us to pay. We got the taxi on our own and because of the resort fees were charged alot more than it should have been and that was a big disappointment. The only other thing we had an issue with is that I reserved the grand Mayan and not the grand luxe we felt pressured to take the grand luxe room because we were told it was an upgrade if we took a presentation. It was not an upgrade, and we love the grand Mayan because it is more family friendly and was sad that we were forced late at night to go to a room that we did not think was an upgrade or really wanted.

We had a fabulous time with our children and grandchildren (11 of us) at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. I would return again, without question. Staff in every department were always pleasant and accommodating. A few things you should be aware of:
1. Our room, 3230, has a lovely jacuzzi tub, but it did not work. Sediment came out of the faucet with the water, and the jets did not work.
2. To avoid a guest's frustration, please note on advertising that Le Petite Chef is a show, not a dining experience, and is not eligible for cancellation without full penalty of fee. It would also be helpful if the guests knew the appropriate age for this event, as kids under 10 are not, typically, interested in gourmet preparations. The show was a lot of fun for the older kids and adults.
3. Our favorite dining experience was Tramonte.
4. I had repeatedly requested, from the time of booking, all the way through the day of arrival, that our family be placed in adjacent rooms - same floor, next door or across the hall from one another. The first 2 arrivals were able to secure adjoining rooms, but our third party (arrived a few hours later) was placed 3 floors higher. This made it very difficult for the grandparents to supervise the grandkids when the parents wanted an evening together. Vidanta knew about our 3 room, 11 people request months in advance (all same last name) and the accommodation was requested prior to day of arrival and several times on the day of arrival, and our requests was still not accommodated. Disappointing.
5. Our experience was wonderful, and we enjoyed our time together. The pools, kid activities, water slides, entertainment each evening, service and beauty of the resort were exceptional. The many staff members we engaged with were so friendly and accommodating.

The grounds and the service staff were amazing. That was paradise! The hard sell when we first arrived was terrible! After 16 hours of traveling we were pressure into making dinner reservations at the most expensive restaurants on the resort. We were pressured to become members and listen to sales pitches for about 2 hours and the only way they let us go was to agree to a brunch meeting which they required me to leave a $40 deposit for. I felt like I was behind robbed. When we finally got our room, it had several issues including a clogged bathroom drain, light bulbs out and a deafening noise in our bathroom that went on for me than 24 hours. Luckily, we didn’t spend much time in our room and the issues were resolved by the 3rd day. The food was very good and the sunshine was just what I needed.

we were upgraded to the luxxe. We loved every minute of our stay. all 5 star. Except for one very small deficiency 3.5 stars for desserts which felt like they were prepared universally for delivery to the resaurants. Very minor minor critique. Wine tasting event was very good.

We were there celebrating our honeymoon. No one really went out of their way to say congratulations or to make it special. I kept requesting a room change and because I wasn’t a member I got no preference and then we kept getting pressured to go on these vacation tours. The property itself is beautiful, but very hard to get in and out of you couldn’t get an Uber leaving the property on my taxes always cost like 100 pesos more

Our “Studio” accommodations were ample in size, well appointed and up to date. The beds were very comfortable and the room included a beautiful big Jacuzzi tub. It contained a large TV with many channels and it was easy to get most of them in English. Room service was excellent and the food was always fresh and hot. We found the resort comfortable to navigate even though we’re in our late 80’s. Our favorite restaurants on the property were the Italian “Tramonto,” the Asian “Gong” and our favorite place to watch the sunset, “Ola Mulata” at the beach. Their food and Mango Margaritas were to die for! Tramonoto and Gong are best reserved ahead of time, but I don’t think Ola Mulata took them. “Samba” was also very good, especially their breakfast buffet. We would not recommend “La Cantina” however. It’s a sports bar with multiple large TV’s going all the time, but we found the food very disappointing. Last but not least, their shuttle service was extremely well organized and got us wherever we wanted to go efficiently.

Our stay at the grand Maya in Nuevo Vallarta exceeded our expectations! The staff were so helpful and friendly and welcoming. Our accommodations were wonderful. It was roomy and clean and we could not have asked for a nicer facility. The pools and the restaurants were wonderful and our entire family had one of the nicest vacations we have ever had.

The Mayan properties are very beautiful. There are tons of amenities, the food was delicious, there was a grocery store close by, it was easy to take a bus into PV, shuttles were available every 2-3 minutes to go anywhere on the property, the pools were clear and lovely. There is so much to do at The Grand Mayan that we were busy all week, plus ample time for relaxation. Despite the recent warnings about travel to Mexico, we felt very, very safe there. The security at this resort was excellent: the guard at the front gate, security personnel outside each building, and occasionally inside. All were very friendly and helpful, and could answer questions (directions) in English. We felt very safe here, as well as away from the resort. (Bucerias, Puerto Vallarta and San Sebastian)
Bathrooms in the common areas were extremely clean at all times.
Our grandkids loved the water slide, wave pools and fountains.
