Stayed several days in June with my wife and sons at Ridge Sierra. Place was clean, quiet, well equiped, spacious and had a magnificent view of the Carson Valley. Although the property is several miles (15 min) from Heavenly Village and the lake, there is an awesome sports bar/restaurant 5 min away (Fox and Hound) that serves really great food and drinks. There is also a nice little market next store. 3 things we didn’t like: 1)huge amount of stairs (4 flights) to our room (no elevator) which can be very difficult for us older folks when lugging baggage and personal items. 2) WiFi was HORRIBLE in our unit. Had to use phone hot spots but cellular was very iffy. 3) even though the temperatures outside never exceeded 80°, our room became very uncomfortably warm in the early morning hours after sunrise. There is no AC, which is understandable given the elevation, but the east facing windows really take a beating in the sun and heat up the units. Using the supplied fan did help a bit. This was even with the windows open during the night. The one other interesting nuance is everything is self-service since there is no front desk person. Overall we had a good time.

There were 6 of us staying in a 2 bedroom/2 bath suite, including two youngsters ages 7 mo. and 4 yrs. I was pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Ridge. All the little details, like friendly, responsive staff, many amenities, pool, hot tubs, sauna, gym, movie theatre and activities center. Simple things, like having hotel type carts in the garage when you arrive to load all your stuff and go up to your room made a huge convenience on arrival and exit. The onsite restaurant was great and overall I have to give this a 5 thumbs up.

Our week in Tahoe was absolutely wonderful! The facility was beyond expectation in terms of quality; comfortable furniture, excellently supplied for cooking, expertly cleaned and inviting after biking and hiking! The pools were clean; the fitness room had what I needed. The staff was super helpful and accommodating! This Holiday Inn was far and away superior to our next week at a Hilton!
