Overall a good experience. Kinda expensive, drinks by the pool were quite pricey. Lobby was really nice with a scenic body of water off front area. Not understanding of the reason of the $150. Resort Fee. As this was not charged to all guests. Food at restaurant quite good. Staff was polite.

The staff at the resort were all amazing. I can't say enough positive about them. The resort is well located with easy access to the Marina that has so many restaurants, and pharmacies if they are your thing, and you can sit and eat looking at very expensive boats. We had a view of the Marina - not the ocean, which was fine but very noisy. It's clear that the main building is old and there was work being done on an adjoining suite that resulted in unpleasant odors through the air conditioning system. But we enjoyed our time there and the "joy" squad.

My family and I had a wonderful time. We went there to relax and that is just what we did. The staff was friendly and so accommodating. The hotel restaurant was good and the bar service beachside was excellent. We would stay there again.

Resort was small, which was nice. Good location near the marina. Did not like that all the ocean view rooms did not have a balcony. Travelling with a child, we enjoy sitting out on a balcony after they go to bed. Found it annoying that the rooms were ready, but could not get into them till 5 pm

if you would like to stay at a resort that has a great location, the Mayan Palace is a great choice. It has a very usable, swimmable beach, provides a very short walk into the Marina, and there is a FREE inter-Marina shuttle that runs every twenty minutes that can take you to the bus stop for inexpensive transportation to Centro (downtown PV) for 10 pesos per person. The staff is outstanding and go out of there way to make you feel like one of their family. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, but need a significant update.

It’s a beautiful complex.
Very safe,you could walk for hours on the beach or the wood walkways,from one hotel to the others.
Activities ,every morning stretching,Joy Squad
Organize lots of activities during the day.
Big choice of Restorants,we enjoyed Quinto in tower 5,Grand Lux with a beautiful view.
Il Tramonto Italian food ag the Grand Mayan.
La Cantina Mexicain,with a show every night.

The resort and location were nice. Check in was a little off putting. The receptionist during check was rude and it left my friend and I worried about the rest of the staff. However the rest of the staff were polite and helpful so that eased our minds a bit. I wish we would’ve been given basic advise of our location and how to find the boardwalk. That small clue would’ve made our stay a lot easier and saved us from paying the cab drivers to basically take us around the block. Other than that the resort is nice and the location is even better.

Resort staff was excellent, friendly, responsive. I thought the housecleaning staff did an excellent job and that our 2 bedroom unit with small kitchenette in the original building was well equipped.

The Mayan Palace in the Puerto Vallart marina is pretty old, but in decent condition. The day after wek left (May 7, 2011) they resort was shut down for a total renovation.
